Interdoc is the South African international courier built for senders, not freight customers. We quote you online in 30 seconds, collect from your door anywhere in South Africa, deliver to a street address in 248 destination countries, and handle the customs paperwork on both ends — with support in eight languages and pricing structured for the small business owner posting a contract to Lisbon, not the multinational moving pallets.
Why we exist
South Africans have spent the last decade losing faith in their postal options. International letters sent via the South African Post Office routinely take eight to twelve weeks to arrive — when they arrive at all. Express alternatives exist, but their counter-based forms and freight-oriented websites can be daunting for a sender shipping a contract once a month rather than a container once a week.
Interdoc was built for the gap. Same door-to-door international service as the big carriers, on a website that quotes you in 30 seconds, with prices structured for individual senders and small businesses.
Two services, one philosophy
ICD — International Courier Documents. Paperwork sealed in a flyer envelope, up to 2 kg billable. Contracts, certificates, visa applications, original signatures. The most economical way to move legally important paper across a border quickly, cleared as documents (not as goods) through customs.
ICP — International Courier Parcels. Anything that isn't flat paperwork, up to 23 kg billable. Samples for an overseas client, gifts to family abroad, e-commerce fulfilment for a small online store, replacement parts a supplier needs urgently.
What you get with every shipment
- Door-to-door pickup and delivery — we collect from any South African address and deliver to a street address overseas, not a post office box.
- Customs handling — we prepare and lodge the export declaration with SARS and the corresponding import declaration with the destination customs authority. Destination duties and taxes are payable by the recipient on a Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis — see our Terms & Conditions, Section 5 for the full customs process.
- End-to-end live tracking from collection to final delivery, accessible by waybill number on this website.
- Zero South African VAT — international courier services are zero-rated under the SA VAT Act. (Destination duties, where applicable, are charged separately by the destination customs authority.)
- Multilingual interface and support available in eight languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Italian, and Simplified Chinese.
- Real human support — based in South Africa, reachable during SA business hours.
The team behind Interdoc
Interdoc is operated by the same dispatch and operations team that runs ICExpress (our domestic courier brand) and ExpressRoad (our regional road-freight brand). That means the people answering your support email and routing your parcel have been moving documents and goods for South African senders for years — not a venture-funded launch hoping international logistics will be easy. We have worked the customs forms, mended the broken consignments, dealt with the destination-country quirks.
