About this lookup
Every line in this directory is parsed directly from the SARS Schedule 1 / Part 1 PDF published by the South African Revenue Service.
The dataset is current to the date shown above. Statistical units (e.g. kg, u, m²) are included where they appear in the official schedule.
South Africa uses an 8-digit tariff code on customs declarations. The first 6 digits are the international Harmonised System code maintained by the World Customs Organisation; the final 2 digits are SARS-specific and identify the statistical breakout and applicable duty rate. For declarations, always use the 8-digit code — a 6-digit code on its own will be rejected by SARS.
Disclaimer. This tool is provided as an informational reference. Duty rates are subject to anti-dumping duties, rebate provisions, environmental levies and special measures that may not be reflected here. Always confirm the final classification with a SARS-registered clearing agent before committing to an import or export.
