Interdoc Tools HS code lookup

South African HS code lookup.

Search the official 2026 SARS Schedule 1 / Part 1 tariff book by HS code or by product description. Every tariff line published by SARS is here — 11,868 entries across 98 chapters — with the current rates of duty for the General tariff and the EU/UK, EFTA, SADC, MERCOSUR and AfCFTA preferential schedules.

Tips. Numeric input → matches HS code prefix (e.g. 0101, 8471.30). Text input → matches product description and category. Combine with the chapter filter to narrow large categories like textiles or machinery.

About this lookup

Every line in this directory is parsed directly from the SARS Schedule 1 / Part 1 PDF published by the South African Revenue Service. The dataset is current to the date shown above. Statistical units (e.g. kg, u, ) are included where they appear in the official schedule.

South Africa uses an 8-digit tariff code on customs declarations. The first 6 digits are the international Harmonised System code maintained by the World Customs Organisation; the final 2 digits are SARS-specific and identify the statistical breakout and applicable duty rate. For declarations, always use the 8-digit code — a 6-digit code on its own will be rejected by SARS.

Disclaimer. This tool is provided as an informational reference. Duty rates are subject to anti-dumping duties, rebate provisions, environmental levies and special measures that may not be reflected here. Always confirm the final classification with a SARS-registered clearing agent before committing to an import or export.
